Happy Valentine’s Day! GOP donor-class frustrated, money not buying them happiness

Diana West just tweeted this Politico story from yesterday entitled: GOP mega-donors frozen in frustration and subtitled: Big money stops flowing as donors question its effectiveness, worry about Trump.

Kochs and Trump
Trump has the Koch Brothers fuming. They (and their phony grassroots group, Americans for Prosperity) want Open Borders and are fine with Muslim immigration to America. Photo: http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/08/politics/charles-koch-financial-times-interview/

Here is how the story by Kenneth Vogel begins:

Some of the biggest Republican donors, who collectively have contributed tens of millions of dollars to shape the presidential race, are tightening their purse strings out of frustration with their inability to boost their favored candidates, or to slow Donald Trump.

Rather than continuing to write huge checks to support the cluster of establishment candidates jockeying to emerge as the leading alternative to Trump, a billionaire real estate showman roundly despised by the GOP elite, these donors have mostly retreated to the sidelines. They’re watching anxiously, hoping that the field sorts itself out, according to interviews with a half dozen major donors or their representatives.

They can’t figure out how to put a stake through Trump’s heart!  And, are desperately looking to the Koch brothers to help figure out what to do.

I had meant to tell you about this Vanity Fair story (Can the Koch Brothers stop Trump?) about the uber-wealthy funders of Republican establishment/globalist candidates earlier this week, and never got to it. Please read it now!

I remember so well when the Kochs’ ‘Americans for Prosperity’ came on the scene and opened a Maryland franchise.  Those of us in the struggling Tea Party movement initially cheered the arrival of someone with some money for our causes.

However…..

We quickly became aware that, although they were eager to harness the grassroots enthusiasm of tea party-minded people on issues like Obamacare and taxes (both issues that would affect the Kochs’ business bottomline), there was one major issue they were not helping with and that was IMMIGRATION.  The Kochs are Open Borders, they, like all CEOs of giant corporations, want a steady supply of cheap immigrant labor.

We had some important immigration-related issues going on in Maryland then and they were awol for all of us who thought they were on our side, and I believe as a result AFP has fizzled here and I expect elsewhere as well.

Now back to Politico!

If anyone thinks Americans for Prosperity is going to fire up a grassroots movement against Trump, they are dreaming!  Americans for Prosperity is not a Tea Party group!  It is a front for the Koch brothers who are in many ways no better than George Soros is for America!

Vogel continues:

They’re (GOP Establishment mega-donors) looking for one of the existing deep-pocketed outside groups to take action sooner to halt Trump’s rise, with several donors specifically citing the political operation helmed by the billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch.

[….]

The Minnesota mega-donor Hubbard, who has donated hundreds of thousands to the Koch network over the years (including at least $50,000 last year), but did not attend the winter meeting, said he planned to call Koch operatives to make the case that they should intervene.

So which of Trump’s policy fronts scare them the most—closing our borders to cheap migrant labor!

“It’s time to start educating,” he said. “It’s obvious that there is no way that we’re going to be able to make Mexico pay for a wall and all this other nonsense. I don’t think anybody’s done an effective job of pointing that out. Hopefully, we’ll have somebody like Americans for Prosperity and the Kochs who will step up to the plate and do it,” he said.

Everyone reading this, unless you want migration to America to continue at the present high level, run like hell if Americans for Prosperity (pretending to be Tea Party) shows up in your state.

Again, country-class people have figured out that they are not on our side on the issue of the century—immigration. Trump says he is!

And, as I’ve said previously: Whether Trump becomes President or not, he has done us all a great service by exposing who is, and who isn’t, first and foremost an America First Conservative!

Senator Jeff Sessions: This election is America’s last chance

Sessions seriousI believe it, and I suspect you do too!

In an interview with Paul Bedard at The Washington Examiner, this is some of what the Alabama Senator had to say:

Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, a leading voice on trade, immigration and executive powers, is urging Americans to choose their next president carefully because 2016 “is the last chance for the American people to take back control of their government.”

In a sober interview with Secrets, the Republican warned that liberal special interests, Wall Street moguls, and international media conglomerates are fast turning the United States into just another member of the European Union and that the effort is being led by a Democratic president eager to go his own way with executive orders.

[….]

Highlighting immigration and trade, Sessions urged voters to choose a candidate who will commit to killing the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal with nearly a dozen Asian nations which is slated to cost 448,000 U.S. jobs, and finally make good on 30 years of promises to put an end to illegal immigration, which is costing the nation billions in welfare and undermining U.S. wages.

“This election will be the last chance for Americans to get control of their government,” said Sessions, repeatedly making that point.

“I think this election is the big one.”

Time to choose! Conservatism Inc. vs. regular working Americans

There is so much commentary about the National Review’s special edition ‘Against Trump’ that I couldn’t possibly summarize it all.

However, here is a bit from one of those Americans (an undocumented one!) Mark Steyn that pretty much sums up where I am on the issue (the only issue that matters!).  Steyn says Trump’s critics invoke ‘Ronald Reagan’ but:

The past is another country, and the Chamber of Commerce Republicans gave it away. Reagan’s California no longer exists. And, if America as a whole takes on the demographics of California, then “the conservative movement” will no longer exist. That’s why, for many voters, re-asserting America’s borders is the first, necessary condition for anything else – and it took Trump to put that on the table.

I looked at the list of supposed conservative ‘minds’ who had weighed in against Trump and said to myself (and I consider myself pretty well informed), who are these people?  Well, I do know the increasingly loony Glenn Beck.

But, I take comfort in knowing I’m not alone and am proud to be on the same side as Mark Steyn, Diana West, Ann Coulter, Senator Jeff Sessions and much of the time Rush Limbaugh.

Which side are you on?

By the way, see this scorcher from James Kirkpatrick on Conservatism, Inc! I like it! The Dissident Right! because Conservatism, Inc. has not defended average middle class working Americans of all stripes against the effects of mass migration on jobs and on our American culture.

Be sure to see my earlier post—Donald Trump scaring the you-know-what out of the globalists at Daaaavos.

The specter of Donald Trump’s populism hung over gathering of the rich at Davos

Those gathered at Davos, Switzerland at the World Economic Forum (WEF) this past week represent those big business interests who have driven US elections for decades.  No one gets to the White House who is out of favor with the elitists, the globalists, at Daaavos.  (You don’t think Bush or Obama were elected without the blessing of the globalists?)

donald trump make america great
Those gathered at Davos don’t want America to be a special place.

That is why they are all so freaked out by Donald Trump’s rising poll numbers.

And, when you look into it, it is the issue of immigration that is THE issue scaring the giant corporations and their minions gathered there.  (Don’t forget Mr. Chobani is there too!).

In fact, in light of the reaction of National Review this week (Conservatism Inc.) at the same time as the frightened world power brokers were sweating Trump in Switzerland.  And, then with Glenn Beck invoking the name of Adolph Hitler in regards to Trump, the sides are forming up very clearly.

ted American kids

Never forget that Beck and Senator Ted Cruz went to the US border during the illegal alien invasion of 2014 to bring gifts and food to the migrants streaming across our border.

What do they all have in common?  They do not want to restrict immigration and they fear Trump will!

It is America First! conservatives and working class people against the elites—National Review writers, Beck, and the gang at the World Economic Forum (including the likes of George Soros and Peter Sutherland!).

The international Financial Times (‘Shadow of Populism hangs over Davos’) has a really good article on the fear of Trump at Davos. (I hope it opens for you because it is a subscription publication.)  This last paragraph gives you an idea of what it’s about:

It is possible — if still unlikely — that when the WEF gathers this time next year, Mr Trump will be US president, the UK will have voted to leave the EU and border controls will have been restored across Europe. Those developments would turn the Davos world upside down.

Julia Hahn writing at Breitbart also tells us about Davos. (‘At Davos, Eric Cantor Assails Trump For His America-First Trade Policy’)

Eric grumpy cantor
When George Soros, Eric Cantor, Glenn Beck and National Review’s Rich Lowry are all on the same side, it tells me what side I need to be on!

And, this is so funny! Look who is running his mouth there! Former Virginia Rep and GOP leader who was ignominiously defeated in a primary election by newcomer (populist!) Dave Brat mostly over the issue of immigration—Eric Cantor!

Be sure to see my next post—Davos darling and dupe for big business….

…assuming snowmageddon doesn’t wipe me out today!

Update:  Here it is!

Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly: Trump is the only one who can save America

Phyllis Schafley
Phyllis Schlafly, founder of the Eagle Forum

Breitbart reporter Julia Hahn sat down with the undisputed conservative conscience of the Republican Party (more accurately, the conscience of the average American Republican voter) Phyllis Schlafly; and the 91-year-young Schlafly said this about Donald Trump’s candidacy: he is the only one who can save America because he understands the existential threat mass migration is for our beloved country.

Here is Hahn at Breitbart:

In an exclusive hour-long sit down interview with Breitbart News, 91-year-old conservative icon and living legend Phyllis Schlafly declared that Donald Trump “is the only hope to defeat the Kingmakers,” and detailed why she believes Trump alone will return the government to the people. She warned that if immigration is not stopped: “we’re not going to be America anymore.”In an exclusive hour-long sit down interview with Breitbart News, 91-year-old conservative icon and living legend Phyllis Schlafly declared that Donald Trump “is the only hope to defeat the Kingmakers,” and detailed why she believes Trump alone will return the government to the people. She warned that if immigration is not stopped: “we’re not going to be America anymore.”

Kingmakers (and losers!) be damned, I’m for “America First” says Schlafly:

“Trump is the only hope to defeat the Kingmakers,” Schlafly told Breitbart resolutely. “Because everybody else will fall in line. The Kingmakers have so much money behind them.”

More than fifty years ago, Schlafly coined the term Kingmakers—or what Schlafly says is now “generally called the Establishment,” or donor class—to describe a select group of cosmopolitan elites who control the Republican Party and have historically determined the Party’s presidential nominee. Aspects of Schlafly’s Kingmaker theory have been articulated in, what is today known as, the “invisible primary” or “The Party Decides” theory.

As Schlafly wrote in 1964, these “few secret kingmakers… successfully forced their choice on a free country where there are more than 34 million Republican voters… They dictated the choice of the Republican presidential nominee just as completely as the Paris dressmakers control the length of women’s skirts.”

“The Kingmakers,” Schlafly told Breitbart, “have picked our last bunch of losers. And there’s one loser after another because they were more interested in maintaining their flow of money from the big donors and their cooperation with the Democrats—their bipartisanship—and that’s not my goal. I’m for America [Schlafly slams hand on table] and America first [slams hand on table again].”

For Cruz supporters, she goes on to say that he would be an excellent choice for the Supreme Court when Trump is President.

Read it all, it is a long, but very interesting read.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Schlafly about this time last year and we should all hope to be as sharp and active when we hit that 9th decade as she is now!

Update!  Read this to see how panicked the elite (Kingmakers) are.
